Products Overview

Through research and innovation, BioStructures has developed a breakthrough platform of implantable bioresorbable products which are utilized in a wide array of orthopedic surgical applications.   BioStructures product line offers value to the surgeon and the patient at each stage of the bone healing process by addressing the pre-surgical, surgical and post-surgical needs of orthopedic bone grafting, bone regeneration and recovery.

The optimal composition of OsteoMatrix Mineralized Collagen Scaffold, OsteoMatrix Synthetic Bone Graft Composite and Interface BioActive Bone Graft are designed to facilitate bone regeneration and remodeling for the patient.  Through the post-recovery period, the bioresorbable implants are designed for radiopacity to facilitate the physician’s observation of the bone graft resorption and simultaneous bone regeneration.  BioStructures additionally offers the high performance Extractor Bone Marrow Aspirator which is uniquely designed for bone marrow harvesting procedures.

BioStructures currently has four novel bone graft products in various stages of development that will utilize our proprietary techniques and materials.  The Interface BioActive Bone Graft product is yet another exciting introduction to a series of innovative biomaterials that will focus on the orthopedic bone graft market and further enhance the dynamic product lineup of BioStructures.

From the surgeon’s hands through patient recovery, BioStructures helps surgeons help patients.  Benefits for the surgeon and the patient include:

Handling

  • OsteoMatrix handles optimally in the hands of the surgeon and at the graft site
  • OsteoMatrix is malleable so that the targeted void spaces can be ideally filled

Bone Formation

  • OsteoMatrix and Interface bioresorbable implant materials are designed to encourage bone formation throughout the healing process
  • 3-Dimensional micropores allow the flow and circulation of biological fluids

Resorption Properties

  • OsteoMatrix and Interface are bone graft scaffolds that are resorbed and replaced by the growth of new bone
  • Interconnected macropores provide a porous scaffold for bone formation as the synthetic biocomposite is resorbed

Innovation — Now and Future

  • BioStructures pipeline of proprietary biocomposite technologies create development opportunities for new and innovative products
  • Extractor is uniquely designed for the bone marrow harvesting procedure
